Havoc-Worthy Trends: Garbage Bags at Sample Sales

As you can see from Exhibits A & B, garbage bags have become a popular way to drag sample sale goods around while continuing to shop for more sale goods. This eventually leads to an overstuffed and torn garbage bag.

The photo on the right is from the last Barneys Warehouse Sale, so expect to see similar moments at the upcoming sale in August.

The Barneys Warehouse Sale is on its Way with a Twist

Last week Barneys New York announced the much anticipated dates for its summer warehouse sale. The twist this season is that for the first time ever, shoppers will have the chance to experience the sale and shop online before it opens at the 17th street location on August 23rd. We know you're all thinking what we're thinking: Will this lessen the infamous crowds and chaos that the sale typically muster's?

We think not. Having an entire day to preview the goods will only drive more excitement to the actual in-store sale, and we think the crowds could be larger than ever. While the online experience will help those who simply live too far to attend the notorious sale in NYC (and boy are we happy for you), New York inhabitants will flock over after getting a taste of what will be to come. Let's not forget to consider the fact that past online sales and collabs (i.e. Missoni x Target) have caused websites to crash for hours. Our advice is simple; if you want the real Barneys Warehouse Sale experience, August 23rd at 17th street is where to be. Print pictures of your favorites pieces and head over with your sneakers on, ready to run and grab as fast as you can.

See you on the 23rd :)

Dates and Location: Barneys Co-op, 255 West 17th Street

Some Say Snoozing is Losing, We Say Snoozing is Winning for the Helmut Lang/Theory Sample Sale

As most of you already know, we are in no way 'Virgin Helmut Lang/Theory Sample Sale Shoppers'. And although we have already gotten our first fix of both designers this spring, we still wanted more. This time around Clothingline are the hosts of the sale, and while we were excited all month long, once news broke that the 93 Mercer Helmut Lang/Theory store was holding a stock sale, we became a bit skepticle. What could possibly be so different about this sale?

Well Jenny is apparently a Helmut Lang/Theory alumnus, because she could not be more on point.

This sale beats every other sale we have ever experienced in terms of pricing. Where else can you get a pair of leather leggings for 45 bucks?! So if you are one of those who missed out on last week's Mercer Street sale, turn that frown upside down!

When Clothingline says sample sale, they mean sample sale.

We deem this one an obvious success, so stop snoozing and hurry over before Thursday's end.

Oh--one more thing--don't snooze too much because this is what happens when you're late:

Hey Clothingline, What will be Left at your Helmut Lang/Theory Sample Sale?

Hey Clothing Line, What will be left at your Helmut Lang/Theory Sample Sale?

As most sample sales whores know, Helmut Lang and Theory are known to host two sample sales per season, usually within a couple months of each other. So it was no surprise when news broke that Clothing Line would be hosting a Helmut Lang and Theory sample sale about two months after each labels' first go round. It completely threw us off when we gained news of the Helmut Lang/Theyskens' Theory sample sale that opened at the 93 Mercer Street location yesterday. This 'surprise sale' is supposedly really good, with tons of stock and sizes. So we can only wonder what will be left for the opening of Monday's sale at Clothing Line. There must be something juicy up their sleeve, and we will be the first to find out.

Who know's something we don't know...

Miss Wu by Jason Wu: An SIP's Dream

This past February Jason Wu'ed us all with his line for Target. People across the country waited for hours in the cold for their chance to grab a piece of Wu or two at prices like $49.99. It was the Wu-quake that hit America.

Well Mr. Wu must really love SIPs because in January of 2013, he will be back with a new line for us to play with. Miss Wu will be less of a special collaboration and more of a long-lasting label for women to enjoy at a lower price point than his high fashion ready-to-wear label sold at Bergdorfs and Saks. "Instead of just doing 'Jason Wu-for-less,' the idea is to explore the other side of myself," the designer explained to WWD.

Miss Wu will launch in January 2013 at Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com, so ladies get your Zipcars ready, we'll be heading off the island for this one.

Madonna, Don't You Think Showing Us Your Right Boob Was Enough?

Maybe your left boob got jealous...

Fellow havoc-wreaker Madonna has done it again.  You'd think think that after that controversy in Istambul, she's had enough.  You couldn't be more wrong...

Madonna caused a stir this past weekend when she pulled out her left boob during the song "Human Nature" at her sold out Stade de France show.  The 53-year-old singer then unzipped her trousers and turned around to reveal her not-so-sexy G-string.  And as if the shock of that left boob wasn't enough, later that night she pulled out a gun to use as a prop later that night.

Enjoy the show...

"Spotting" Trends in a Sea of Yayoi Kusama Spots at the Whitney

Yayoi Kusama week continued last night at the Whitney Museum of American Art with a reception celebrating the opening of her retrospective, and all her fans showed up to celebrate. The museum's bottom floor was completely transformed into the world of Yayoi, with spots surrounding guests in all shapes and sizes. Yayoi Kusama fans are truly dedicated; most of the guests were dressed to impress. Many rocked spots, and some others brought out their Louis Vuitton's. But the fashion as a whole was as eclectic and artsy as Yayoi herself. So we played into the theme of the evening with some trend-'spotting', Yayoi Style.

A.P.C and Nike are Having a Baby This Fall

A.P.C has dipped its feet into the sneaker pond. On August 30th, the French label will be launching a line of special kicks with legendary sneaker brand Nike. Now this seems to be the ultimate solution for those of us who have chosen to walk the NYC streets in our 10-year-old clunky New Balances; you know who you are. Commuting will never look the same again.

If the launch day for these babies is anything like the Nike Air Jordan's chaotic release, it will be worth waiting outside the A.P.C boutique with all the other hopefuls from the eve of August 29th. Just BYOPS (Bring Your Own Pepper Spray).

See you then!

Yayoi Kusama has Landed at Louis Vuitton

We showed up to the Louis Vuitton Flagship around 3:30, promptly 30 minutes before the Louis Vuitton x Yayaoi Kusama SIP Opening. Naturally, there were velvet ropes surrounding the entrance, but much to our surprise there was no line. Well we guess the crowd on 5th avenue caught on once they saw us waiting before the velvet ropes like two Justin Beiber stalkers because a line quickly formed behind us.

Once the clock struck 4(:02) we were invited inside, followed by a rush of excited Kusama fans.  We thought it would be easy for us to get first dibs on all Kusama goods but Louis Vuitton outsmarted us by spreading her stuff throughout the store.  So instead we played the lurking game and peaked inside people's bags.  And here's what we found...

Peek-a-boo Kusama Papillon!

Lucky Lady got her hands on her very own Kusama collection (Kusama Whore)...

And now for the rest of them. It's like standing on the corner of 42nd street in the 80's...

We want to become Kusama whores too...stay tuned for the next Yayoi Kusama outing

Yayoi Kusama Week Kicks off Tomorrow!

Starting tomorrow, Yayoi Kusama will begin to pop up all over Manhattan just like her signature spots pop up all over her work. We have been eagerly awaiting the debut of her collection with Louis Vuitton since we first heard that she was teaming up with the french house.

We love Ms. Kusama for her sense of eccentricity and over the top aesthetic. Her art is the epitome of something beautiful that can still wreak havoc.

This week we can celebrate the artist both uptown and down. Tomorrow marks the opening of the Louis Vuitton x Yayoi concept shops at Vuitton's Soho and Fifth Avenue locations. If you are a VIP or simply cool enough to be invited, enjoy previewing the shop before everyone else. The shop opens to the SIPs shortly after 4pm tomorrow.

Going Kusama Crazy? Her retrospective opens at the Whitney Museum of American Art on Thursday July 12th.

Since we love to follow awesomely crazy people around that truly wreak havoc, we will be traveling all over Manhattan to find her...Maybe we will see you around

Maison Martin Margiela is Redefining the Term "Brown Paper Bag" in His Own Amazing Way

Going incognito goes against everything we believe in unless you do it in the perfect way....

And what Maison Martin Margiela achieved at his recent couture show was nothing short of perfection.  His models sprung down the aisle adorned in crystal embroidered masks...

This "artisanal" collection was full of vintage clothing and objects which were transformed into something totally different.  Here's a few examples of how awesome MMM really is--The sleeveless jacket that opened the show was inspired by a tailcoat from the early 1900s with a crystal doorknob found in New York used as eh jacket's closure. An antique beaded silk gown was actually turned into a quilted bomber jacket. And last but not least, there's a bolero made of nothing other than vintage baseball gloves..

We don't think MMM will be using any vintage baseball gloves in the H&M collaboration but we can still dream....

An Example of Someone who Knows how to Wreak Havoc in Honor of our Country!

While browsing through Google Image for American flags and anything seemingly patriotic, we came across some imagery that went above and beyond what we had hoped to find. And here you have it. The photos you see above and below are meant to exemplify the silliness we wish to disseminate upon all of you in honor of our country's Independence Day. This dude is so obviously elated to be an American and have the opportunity to drink all those beers in the name of our country. And we can only hope we have half as much fun as he is as he plays a friendly game of toilet-seat toss.

Here's to a happy havoc-worthy 4th!

Oh Karl, You've Outdone Yourself Once Again

You probably know by now how Karl-Krazy we are here at Wreak Havoc NY. And if you're as obsessed with him as we are, then you know Karl's all about the kollar.  So when we heard about his limited edition kollar, we kouldn't be more excited to show you.

Now for the famous kollar of all (drum roll please)...

This kollar has 40 karats worth of small black diamonds with a 22.3 carat emerald in the center and will cost you $37,500 before taxes.

Rachel Zoe x Jockey?

Don't go bananas girls, this is just an endorsement...

Later this month, you will be able to sport not so classic Jockeys under all your outfits courtesy of Rachel Zoe.  WWD reports there will be "two lines of fashion-forward intimates" and "the bottoms will offer a 'cheeky' cut and modern silhouettes in solid colors and graphic prints."

Prices range from $10.50 for panties to $57 for shapewear and the Rachel Zoe for Jockey products will be sold at Macy's and Lord & Taylor.  Each undergarment will have tags that say, "Preferred by Rachel Zoe."

Thank you Rachel for picking out our underwear too.

Jean Paul Gaultier x Coca-Cola

You may have heard that Jean Paul Gaultier has been appointed the new creative director of Coca-Cola a few months back.  One of the first things he did was design a series of Coca-Cola bottles covered in  signature Gaultier.

And now the third one is out and it's fabulous...
The tattoo-like corset on the bottle resembles Madonna's infamous corset back in 1990.  Now who wouldn't want to drink that?

Not only does Jean Paul Gaultier wreak havoc in fashion world, he just created a way for us to take some havoc home this summer.   This Gaultier "collection" is available only in Europe which leaves us desperate over here in America.  Hoarders haven't put any limited edition Gaultier Coke Lights up on eBay yet but we are definitely watching out for them.
